The brief was to design a boutique event space at the newly opened Howard Smith Wharves precinct. With its uninterrupted views of the Story Bridge, Bougainvillea house was inspired by summer holidays in the Mediterranean. The more immediate inspiration came from the surrounding waters of the Brisbane River, a symbol of the relaxed Queensland lifestyle.

The unique event space remains tranquil whilst offering an air of sophistication. Featuring French oak, aged zinc, tumbled marble and antique brass with almost every element of Bougainvillea House’s interior being bespoke.
